Hello, I've been studying pigments lately and decided to make my own pigments, and paint. I read a lot about it and collected some rocks right outside my door. I thought, this is amazing! I will go round about and collect rocks, make paint, and paint pictures of the places where I found the rocks. I smashed rocks in a mortar and pestle. I filtered, dried, jarred, and labeled. I mulled the pigments with oil to make paint. Finally I painted a picture. I said, I am glad I did that but it's hard work. I am not sure I want to do that again! Thanks, Jeanne Ross
Old Sail Boat at Camachee Harbor Too Original painting by Jeanne Ross Oil paint on oil paper Size: 9" x 12" Hello everyone! I just finished the last in the EnTrain Air 2025 Painting Trip series. Here are a couple of my favorite memories from the trip. But now spring is in the air and I am thinking about what and where I will paint outdoors this year. I will probably start by finishing a painting I started last fall, by Dick's in Hudson. You may notice my website has change, and you are right. I am moving from Wix to Lyric. Stay tuned, Jeanne Ross
