Saint Paul from Dayton's Bluff at Dawn

Saint Paul from an outlook along Mounds Boulevard, in the Dayton's Bluff area of Saint Paul, very close by Indian Mounds Park. The time is September and barges are lining up to get filled at CHS Inc. CHS Inc. owns the name of the Saint Paul Saints baseball stadium in Lowertown, downtown St.Paul.

This has been one of my favorite views for a long time, and apparently I am not alone. When I was out painting a passerby told me it is the most photographed place in St. Paul.

For me it goes back to the '70s when my dad took pictures at a City of Saint Paul event called The Spectacle of Lights. All of the businesses in downtown would turn on their lights and photographers would  take pictures.
